About

Hey there, my name is Nicky Gonis and I’m a Naturopath, Herbalist and mum of a very active 7 year old boy.

I’m passionate about helping you transform your health and wellbeing. I have a special interest in treating gut health, anxiety, autoimmunity and fatigue.

My goal is to use my experience and knowledge as a Naturopath to empower people to heal their lives.

My aim is to assist people in realizing that they can regain control of their own health through applying the philosophy of Naturopathic Medicine and treating yourself with gentle care.

What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy combines the art and science of medicine using traditional forms of healing and modern scientific knowledge to prevent, manage and treat a range of health conditions and illnesses.

Naturopathic practices include herbal medicine, dietary interventions, nutritional supplementation, lifestyle modifications, flower essences, iridology, mindfulness and clinical pathology investigations.

Naturopathy embodies the following principles:

  • First do no harm
  • Treat the whole person
  • Identify and treat the cause of disease
  • Naturopath as the teacher
  • Focus on prevention

A Naturopath will provide you with information, advice and a natural approach to regain and maintain your health, decrease stress and improve your energy levels.

I often work with clients already on prescribed medications and am experienced in working in conjunction with patients and their doctors to gain the best possible health outcomes.

What is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal medicine involves the study or practice of the medicinal and therapeutic use of plants to treat conditions such as:

  • Digestive complaints
  • Skin issues such as eczema and acne
  • Insomnia
  • Fatigue and lethargy
  • Anxiety
  • Hormonal imbalances such as PCOS, Endometriosis and PMS
  • Fertility problems
  • Autoimmune conditions

Herbal medicine has always sought to bring people back to health with non-toxic, plant based medicines. These traditionally were teas or decoctions. Although over the past few hundred years herbal tinctures were made, so a more concentrated liquid form could be used. The advantage of liquid herbal medicines is that a formulation is individually tailored to suit your needs and can contain several herbs so they can be used to treat more than one issue. For example, a single herbal formula may be able to address digestive problems, skin problems and hormonal imbalances.

I have had many years experience with making personalised herbal formulations for all types of complaints.

I only use liquid herbal extracts from reputable, Australian suppliers to ensure top quality medicines.
